About Devon Eye Hospital
The Devon Eye Hospital is part of the Eye Hospitals Group. The Group was founded in 1991, and we have been at the forefront of technological and clinical advances in the UK throughout our history. Since that time, we have delivered over 650,000 surgical procedures; removing cataracts, replacing intraocular lenses and treating short-sightedness. We were the first to introduce refractive laser surgery to the UK, and our consultants continue to research new surgical techniques and technologies.
We comply fully with all the requirements of the regulatory bodies that monitor the provision of healthcare in the UK. All of our hospitals are registered with the appropriate authorities (CQC in England), managed by highly-experienced staff, and provide a safe, convenient and comfortable environment for patients. We work closely with opticians, optometrists, leading medical insurers and the regulators to ensure that we continue to provide the highest quality of care to our patients. READ MORE.
With our specialist medical team and our continued investment in advanced technology, you can be sure that you will be receiving the highest quality treatment best-suited to your needs.
We constantly monitor our results and review our technology to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients; 99.86% of our patients achieve driving standard vision or above.
Your comfort is important to us. This is the reason why, for your peace of mind, we provide you with a direct telephone line to your treating surgeon for the night of your treatment.
Founded in 1991, we are the UK’s longest established eye surgery specialists. As we have locations throughout the UK, you will never be far from your local eye hospital.
Meet Our NHS Consultant Surgeons
Our team of specialist eye surgeons are qualified medical practitioners, all of whom have specialised in Ophthalmology in the NHS.
They all have a special interest in refractive surgery (vision correction); that is, surgery to avoid wearing glasses.
All our doctors are registered with the General Medical Council, and are Fellows or Members of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists (FRCOphth or MRCOphth), or Fellows of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS).

All of our facilities in England are registered and monitored by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), whilst our Belfast Clinic is registered and monitored by the RQIA. In Wales, our hospitals are regulated by HIW.
There is no registration requirement in Scotland. However, our facilities in Scotland operate and adhere to the same strict standards of care and clinical practice that cover all of the Eye Hospital Group.
